Negotiation Project Twente (NPT) was founded at the University of Twente, becoming the first negotiation project in the Netherlands. This marked the beginning of a new era for negotiation education in Dutch universities.
October 2021

The success and rapid growth of NPT made it clear that the idea had potential far beyond Twente. To capitalise on this momentum, we established the Dutch Negotiation Network (DNN), a national platform aimed at connecting students, researchers, and professionals in negotiation.
June 2022

The Dutch Negotiation Network, University of Twente, and POINT hosted a seminar that brought together students and professionals for workshops led by leading experts. Topics included culture, gender, power, trust, and strategy in negotiation.
June 2024

The first Dutch Negotiation Open (DNO) was launched as a national competition, bringing together students from across the Netherlands to showcase their skills and exchange ideas. The event quickly became the flagship platform for connecting young negotiators and building the network’s national identity.
June 2022

The launch of Negotiation Project Amsterdam (NPA) at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit, together with Negotiation Project Maastricht (NPM) at Maastricht University, marked the first successful spin-offs of the Twente model, demonstrating that the concept could flourish on a national scale.
June 2025

The second Dutch Negotiation Open expanded into a three-day event with more rounds, workshops, and networking. It attracted a broader pool of students, strengthened academic and professional partnerships, and firmly established itself as the flagship platform for negotiation in the Netherlands.
